If you just returned home after a dental restoration appointment, then you’re probably noticing the soreness of your teeth. This is nothing to be concerned about and it’s quite normal, especially because your chompers aren’t used to that much attention and pressure. Fortunately, there are things you can do to relieve and treat that soreness, and our dentist, Dr. Roberto Macedo, is happy to tell you all about them!

First, use gentle techniques as you brush. This can help you remove bacteria from your teeth without causing too much soreness and pain. Now, you might feel a little bit of discomfort, but that is to be expected.

Second, be soft as you floss. Don’t force the floss between your teeth. Gently slide the floss into place and carefully clean the sides of each tooth. Make sure you are gentle and cautious around the oral tissues (gums).

Third, use toothpaste that helps with tooth sensitivity. This paste can toughen the tooth enamel and block the pathways that lead to the inner nerves of the teeth. This can help you reduce tooth sensitivity and return to the comfort you desire.
